Harper Wang is a Chinese dance artist, performer and actor trained at the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Her practice is grounded in the expressive body, where movement becomes a vehicle for character, tension and dramatic imagination.
Working across dance, theatre and screen, Harper brings together the physical discipline of dance and the psychological sensitivity of acting. She is interested in how the body can reveal a character’s inner condition before language appears: through posture, breath, rhythm, gaze, restraint and release.
Her performance language is marked by precision, emotional control and theatrical presence. Rather than treating movement as decorative form, she approaches the body as an active dramatic force — one that carries memory, conflict, desire and transformation.
Through this intersection of dance and performance, Harper continues to develop a body-based artistic practice shaped by discipline, intuition and expressive depth.
